Soccer Recap: Meyer Comes Up Short

Meyer came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the La Vega Pirates, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Meyer can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 663rd, while La Vega are ranked 83rd).

Meyer has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7-1 record this season. As for La Vega, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Meyer is set to face off against their familiar foe Hearne at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, La Vega will square off against rival Robinson at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
