Softball Recap: East Jessamine's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

East Jessamine waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Madison Southern Eagles. That's more bragging rights for the Jaguars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Remie Smith was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 18 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kylee Oliver, who fired off two home runs and three runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Natalie Alimento, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

East Jessamine hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive contests.

East Jessamine's record is now 19-22. As for Madison Southern, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Jessamine will host George Rogers Clark at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Madison Southern, they will welcome South Laurel at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
