Softball Recap: Camp Hill Has No Trouble Against York Catholic

Camp Hill's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They put the hurt on the York Catholic Fighting Irish with a sharp 19-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won six contests by 12 runs or more so far this season.

Lindsay Oyster made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI and three runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Lindsay Johnson and Caroline Cunningham did most of the damage at the plate: Johnson went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Cunningham went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three hits gave Cunningham a new career-high. Madeline Oyster was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Camp Hill kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

With the win, Camp Hill broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-12. As for York Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-15.

As of now, neither Camp Hill nor the Fighting Irish have any future games scheduled.
