Basketball Recap: Corona/Vaughn Extends Winning Streak to 11

Corona/Vaughn entered their tilt with Alamo Navajo on Tuesday with ten consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with 11. They blew past the Alamo Navajo Cougars, posting a 71-41 win. The Cardinals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 contests by 23 points or more this season.

Corona/Vaughn found their leader in sophomore Harper Dunn, who dropped a double-double with 43 points and 25 boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dunn has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kassidy Lightfoot, who posted ten points along with eight assists and eight rebounds.

Corona/Vaughn smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in six consecutive matches.

Corona/Vaughn's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points over those games. As for Alamo Navajo, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season.

Coming up, Corona/Vaughn will host Hondo Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Corona/Vaughn's defense has only allowed 26.8 points per game this season, so Hondo Valley's offense will have their work cut out for them. Alamo Navajo does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
