Basketball Game Preview: Coppell Cowboys vs. Guyer Wildcats

Coppell hasn't had much luck against Guyer recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Coppell Cowboys will challenge the Guyer Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Tuesday, Coppell came up short against Hebron and fell 45-34. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Cowboys came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Hawks are ranked 256th).

Meanwhile, after a string of ten wins, Guyer's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 64-56 to Flower Mound.

This is the second loss in a row for Coppell and nudges their season record down to 11-10. As for Guyer, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-2.

Coppell came up short against Guyer in their previous matchup back in November of 2017, falling 41-37. Thankfully for Coppell, Callie Boyles (who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 15 boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
