Baseball Game Preview: Hershey Trojans vs. Gettysburg Warriors

The Hershey Trojans will venture away from home to square off against the Gettysburg Warriors at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Monday, Hershey earned a 5-1 victory over Central Dauphin East. The win continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won five in a row.

Colton Fultz tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Bennett Sheppard, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Aiden Edelman also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Gettysburg put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let Red Land get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory.

Gettysburg's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-0. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Hershey, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Hershey couldn't quite get it done against Gettysburg in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 4-0. Can Hershey avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
