Softball Game Preview: Holy Cross Crusaders vs. Seymour Wildcats

The Holy Cross Crusaders will face off against the Seymour Wildcats at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Holy Cross' pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on Ansonia with a sharp 14-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Crusaders.

Meanwhile, Seymour faced St. Paul Catholic in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Wildcats came out on top against the Falcons by a score of 12-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The high-scoring effort was just what the Wildcats needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Seymour pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Holy Cross, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.
