Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Union Pines walked away with it. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the West Carteret Patriots on Tuesday. Union Pines might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 games by three goals or more this season.

Their offense was hitting West Carteret from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Grace Queen led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by herself.

The victory (which was Union Pines' 11th in a row) raised their record to 18-3-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 69 goals over those 11 contests. As for West Carteret, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12-3.

Union Pines didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 5-0 victory against Swansboro on the 15th. West Carteret does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
