Softball Recap: Shea Raiders vs. Times Squared Academy Eagles
Shea had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Times Squared Academy Eagles with a sharp 23-13 victory. 23 seems to be a good number for the Raiders as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Taylor Kane made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and seven unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Laurel Christian was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zanyiah Fortes, who went 2-for-5 with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.
