Hackleburg lost to Sulligent back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Blue Devils with a sharp 11-4 win. Considering the Panthers have won 12 matchups by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Payten Herron was a standout: she scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Saylor Cooper, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Herron wasn't the only one making solid contact: Hackleburg kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 12 consecutive contests.

Hackleburg's victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Sulligent, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-5.

Looking ahead, Hackleburg will be playing in front of their home fans against Winfield at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Sulligent, they are taking a road trip to challenge Gordo at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
