Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Ja'laya Harris and Bella Reese Lead Dora to Victory

Dora waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 61-48 victory over the Hanceville Bulldogs. This was payback for Dora, who suffered a 50-10 loss the last time these two teams met.

Leading Dora to victory were Bella Reese and Ja'Laya Harris. Reese dropped a double-double on 24 points and 14 rebounds, while Harris posted 17 points along with eight boards and five steals. Harris has become a key player for Dora: the team is 13-6 when she posts at least five steals, but 1-2 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee Woods, who put up ten points and six rebounds.

Dora smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in ten consecutive contests.

Dora's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-8. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for Hanceville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-10.

Dora will square off against Fultondale at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hanceville, they will challenge Vinemont at 5:45 p.m. on Friday.
