Basketball Game Preview: Mercy Tigers vs. Wilbur Cross Governors

The Mercy Tigers and the Wilbur Cross Governors will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Thursday, Mercy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 53-49 to Sheehan. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Wilbur Cross came up short against Foran on Thursday, falling 69-43. The loss continues a trend for the Governors in their matchups with the Lions: they've now lost five in a row.

Mercy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Wilbur Cross, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Mercy might still be hurting after the 60-40 defeat they got from Wilbur Cross in their previous meeting back in January of 2020. Can Mercy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
