Chesnee hadn't done well against Gaffney recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Eagles won by a set and slipped past the Indians 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Chesnee had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-13, 25-23.

Dacie Green paced Chesnee's offense, picking up eight kills. Green got some help from Abbie Olson and her 12 assists. Green was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Chesnee's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Gaffney, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Chesnee and Gaffney will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Eagles will face off against rival Brashier Middle College Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Gaffney is set to challenge their familiar foe Boiling Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
