Baseball Recap: Newberry Panthers vs. Crystal River Pirates
Newberry was handed a six-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Crystal River Pirates 8-7.
Nathan Arnold looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, Tavis Honeycutt was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. Tristan Woodrome was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

As for Crystal River, they will challenge Nature Coast Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Crystal River has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
