League recap: Jones overpowering for Cajon in past week

Citrus Belt league recap: 3/27/13

Noah Jones was the top pitcher in Citrus Belt this week, leading Cajon. He picked up one win and eight strikeouts.

Yucaipa outperformed the rest of the league this week, as its two total wins led the league. The Thunderbirds beat Eisenhower 8-3 and Rialto 4-2.

Redlands East Valley put one runner on via walks this week, fewest in the league, but the Cowboys' staff still boasts the league's best control, having issued only 12 bases on balls over 75 total innings.

14 batters hit over .400 this week. Leading the pack was Sean Smith, who hit .750 by going 3-for-4.

Ryan England drove in four runners as the Wildcats defeated Miller 17-1 on Tuesday. He went 3-for-5 and scored two runs.



Jones struck out eight in Cajon's 5-1 win over Glendale on March 20.
