Softball Recap: Eureka Takes a Loss

Eureka dropped their record down to 8-11 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Tri-Valley Vikings by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Hornets have suffered since April 11th.

As for Tri-Valley, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 13-2-1. That's two games straight that they have won by exactly two runs.

For Tri-Valley's part, Paige Fesler was incredible, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. Those two home runs gave Fesler a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zoey Whittaker, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eureka will take on Fieldcrest at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hornets are facing the Knights at the right time seeing as the Knights are stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Tri-Valley, they will challenge Heyworth at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hornets will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
