Football Recap: Regent Prep Finds Home Field Redemption Against Central

There's no place like home for Regent Prep, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 28-18 win over the Central Tigers on Friday. This was payback for Regent Prep, who suffered a 56-41 loss the last time these two teams met.

Regent Prep found their leader in freshman Brody Smith, who threw for 275 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 34 yards. 83 of Smith's passing yards were hauled in by Bryceton Huerta, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Regent Prep didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Huerta.

Regent Prep now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Looking ahead, Regent Prep is taking a road trip to face off against Gore at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Regent Prep will be up against the Pirates' rather soft defense (which has allowed 26 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Central, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Talihina at 7:00 p.m. The Tigers will need to watch out since the Golden Tigers have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
