Basketball Game Preview: Coventry Comets vs. Norton Panthers

The Coventry Comets will venture away from home to face off against the Norton Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Coventry had taken Ravenna down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. The Comets received a blow as they fell 53-37 to the Ravens. The Comets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Norton was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 67-63 to Ellet. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Panthers came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while the Orangemen are ranked 271st).

Coventry's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Norton, their loss dropped their record down to 18-2.

Coventry was taken down by Norton 76-39 in their previous matchup back in January. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Comets were down 35-13.
