Baseball Recap: Montgomery County Indians vs. Cooper Jaguars
While Montgomery County didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-21), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against the Cooper Jaguars by a score of 4-1 on Wednesday.
Cooper's batters probably weren't too happy with Jordan Howard, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 11 Ks (he gave up two walks). Those walks were Howard's first of the season.
At the plate, Robby Howard was excellent, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Evan Copher, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Montgomery County's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Cooper, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5-1.
Looking ahead, Montgomery County will be playing in front of their home fans against Rowan County at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cooper, they will head out on the road to square off against St. Henry at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
