Softball Game Preview: Jo Byrns Red Devils vs. Trousdale County Yellowjackets

The Jo Byrns Red Devils are taking a road trip to challenge the Trousdale County Yellowjackets at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Jo Byrns is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

Jo Byrns' last matchup with Todd County Central could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Monday. The Red Devils lost 16-0 to the Rebels. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Red Devils were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Trousdale County didn't have quite enough to beat Gordonsville on Tuesday and fell 3-2. The loss continues a trend for the Yellowjackets in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost five in a row.

Cayden Ray was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. Madilyn Pilewicz was another key player, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Jo Byrns' defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Trousdale County, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.

Jo Byrns couldn't quite get it done against Trousdale County in their previous meeting back in April of 2023 as they fell 7-2. Can the Red Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
