Soccer Game Preview: St. Joseph's Academy vs. Northshore

The St. Joseph's Academy Redstickers will face off against the Northshore Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. St. Joseph's Academy is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games.

St. Joseph's Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Louisiana's top teams: St. Scholastica, who was ranked fourth at the time (St. Joseph's Academy was ranked second). St. Joseph's Academy never let St. Scholastica onto the board and left with a 1-0 win on Saturday. That's two games straight that the Redstickers have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northshore). Everything went their way against Hammond on Friday as Northshore made off with a 9-0 victory. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

St. Joseph's Academy's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-1-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 49 goals over those ten matches. As for Northshore, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5-4 record this season.

St. Joseph's Academy took their win against Northshore in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 5-0. Does St. Joseph's Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Northshore turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
