Basketball Game Preview: Wenonah Dragons vs. KIPP Atlanta Collegiate Warriors

The Wenonah Dragons will be taking part in a tournament against the KIPP Atlanta Collegiate Warriors at 11:30 a.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Wenonah sitting on six straight victories and KIPP Atlanta Collegiate on five.

If Wenonah beats KIPP Atlanta Collegiate with 74 points on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Wenonah blew past Jackson-Olin 74-54 on Thursday. Given the Dragons' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 121st, while the Mustangs are ranked 351st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

While KIPP Atlanta Collegiate didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against Prosser on Saturday as KIPP Atlanta Collegiate made off with a 67-43 win.

Wenonah better keep an eye on Chane Bynum. He was instrumental in KIPP Atlanta Collegiate's win, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Bynum is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least ten every time he's taken the court this season.

Wenonah's record now sits at 11-6. As for KIPP Atlanta Collegiate, their record is now 8-3.
