On Saturday Webster Schroeder's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 1-0 W against the Corning-Painted Post Hawks. The one-run effort marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

The result came thanks to Liana DeValder's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Webster Schroeder secured the victory behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Kinsley Keil, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Webster Schroeder's win bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Corning-Painted Post, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-2.

Webster Schroeder wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 14-1 victory against Windsor Central on the 26th. As for Corning-Painted Post, they will head out to take on Union-Endicott at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
