Softball Game Preview: Avoca-Prattsburgh Titans vs. Alfred-Almond Eagles

For the second straight game, Avoca-Prattsburgh will face off against Alfred-Almond. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Avoca-Prattsburgh will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

Avoca-Prattsburgh came out on top against Alfred-Almond last Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run sixth inning. The Titans blew past the Eagles 9-1.

Meyah Putnam made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 7.2 strikeouts per game. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

In other batting news, Avoca-Prattsburgh got a big performance out of Brooke Vanskiever, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. Peyton Hopkins was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Avoca-Prattsburgh always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Avoca-Prattsburgh's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 8.5 runs this season. As for Alfred-Almond, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
