Baseball Recap: Weaver Takes a Loss

Weaver was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 13-1 to the Academy of Science and Innovation Ravens. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Ravens this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-2 back in April.

Weaver saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Torrie Allen, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI. Marcus De Los Santos also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Weaver's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Academy of Science and Innovation, their victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Weaver will welcome Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Academy of Science and Innovation, they will host University at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.91 runs per game on average), something the Ravens will no doubt try to take advantage of.
