Recap: East River Falcons vs. Cypress Creek Bears
The East River Falcons's game on Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They walked away with a 50-41 win over Cypress Creek. That result was just more of the same for these two, as East River also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Keilani Serrano had a dynamite game for East River, dropping a double-double on 30 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Serrano has scored at least 25% of East River's points. Another player making a difference was Yariana Lugo Perez, who scored 9 points along with 5 assists.
Despite the defeat, Cypress Creek saw an underclassman step up: Iliana Dorvilus scored 19 points. Dorvilus scored a full 46.3% of Cypress Creek's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Timberlyn Campbell was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
East River now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Cypress Creek, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East River will take on Winter Park at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Winter Park focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Thursday. As for Cypress Creek, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Lake Nona at 6:00 p.m.
