Soccer Game Preview: Loretto vs. Lewis County

The Loretto Mustangs will head out to challenge the Lewis County Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Loretto is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.

Loretto's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Wayne County as they made off with a 3-0 victory. Loretto's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three contests.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Lewis County challenged Mt. Pleasant on Wednesday. Neither the Panthers nor the Tigers could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw. The result (or lack thereof) marked Lewis County's first draw of the season.

Lewis County's draw makes their record 0-11-1 this season. As for Loretto, their win bumped their record up to 6-1-1.

Everything went Loretto's way against Lewis County in their previous meeting last Tuesday, as Loretto made off with a 5-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
