Football Recap: Lakeside Rams vs. Nettleton Raiders
Lakeside had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They took their match on Friday with ease, bagging a 42-7 victory over the Nettleton Raiders. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by 29 points or more this season.
Grady Ohman continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 219 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.2 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 14th straight game with at least 100 rushing yards dating back to last season.
Lakeside was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 259 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Nettleton only rushed for 33.
Lakeside wouldn't let Nettleton keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Lakeside can thank Landon Rhea and Joseph Newman for forcing both of them. Newman also set a new season high mark in total tackles with 11.
Lakeside has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. Those victories were due in large part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 13.5 points per game. As for Nettleton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-4 record this season.
Lakeside will square off against Robinson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Robinson will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Lakeside surely won't give up without a fight. Nettleton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
