After only one run in their last match, North Salinas made sure to put some runs up on the board against Pajaro Valley on Tuesday. The Vikings blew past the Grizzlies 12-0. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won five contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Zack Sims, who went 3-for-2 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. Joshua Degroodt was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Sims wasn't the only one making solid contact: North Salinas kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for the Vikings: they were averaging 5.3 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 9.

North Salinas now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Pajaro Valley, they dropped their record down to 0-10 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

North Salinas will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Grizzlies: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
