Avondale is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 15-13 win over Harper Woods on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Yellowjackets have posted since May 11, 2024.

Isabel Beltinck was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Miranda Cardiff, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Avondale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .724. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .526 or higher in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, West Bloomfield lost 18-2 to Groves last Wednesday.
West Bloomfield saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was MORGAN CHRISTIAN, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that CHRISTIAN has hit this season.
West Bloomfield's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Avondale, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-10.
West Bloomfield's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Avondale has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .476. It's a different story for West Bloomfield, though, as they've only averaged .352. Will they be able to contain Avondale's hitters?
Avondale might still be hurting after the 13-1 loss they got from West Bloomfield in their previous meeting back in May of 2019. Can the Yellowjackets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
