Baseball Game Preview: Lincoln Railsplitters vs. Metamora Redbirds

The Lincoln Railsplitters will head out to take on the Metamora Redbirds at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Lincoln's offense. They fell 4-0 to Morton on Tuesday. The Railsplitters have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, it may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Metamora ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Pekin 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Redbirds have posted since April 10th.

Metamora's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brant Adams, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Metamora's record now sits at 7-13. As for Lincoln, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-13.

Lincoln took their win against Metamora in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 12-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Railsplitters since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
