Soccer Recap: James Irwin Comes Up Short + How To Watch

James Irwin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Salida Spartans. While losing is never fun, James Irwin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 210th, while Salida are ranked 47th).

James Irwin's loss dropped their record down to 1-8-1. As for Salida, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. James Irwin will take on Pueblo County at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Salida, they will square off against Ellicott at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
