Palos Verdes came tearing into Thursday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.3 points), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Mira Costa Mustangs 32-0. Considering the Sea Kings have won nine games by more than 19 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Palos Verdes' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ellie Correa led the charge by throwing for 266 yards and three TDs. Those 266 passing yards gave Correa a new career-high. Sophia Albano helped Correa out on the ground, picking up 87 receiving yards and one score.

Palos Verdes didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off six passes before the game was over. April Sanchez led the group effort, picking up three of those interceptions all by herself. She also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with eight. Paige McCarthy got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Palos Verdes' victory bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Mira Costa, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

Meanwhile, Mira Costa is set to face off against their familiar foe Redondo Union at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Mustangs 14.2, the Sea Hawks 8.6) so any points scored will be well earned.
