Riverdale is a perfect 5-0 against Princeton since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Rams will look to defend their home field against the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. Riverdale knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Princeton likes a good challenge.
The home team had come away the winner the last four times Riverdale and Orion had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Rams put the hurt on the Chargers with a sharp 15-4 victory on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won nine matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Riverdale got a massive performance out of Katie Cox, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Cox is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Breckin DeLaRosa, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Riverdale hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in seven consecutive games.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Princeton challenged Erie-Prophetstown on Thursday. The Tigers came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 9-5. The game was the first time the Tigers have beaten the Panthers on their field since May 20, 2019.
Piper Hansen looked comfortable as she tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
At the plate, Izzy Gibson was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Sam Woolley, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI.
Riverdale's win bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Princeton, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Princeton's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Riverdale has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.7 hits per game. It's a different story for Princeton, though, as they've been averaging 10.8 hits. Given Riverdale's sizable advantage in that area, the Tigers will need to find a way to close that gap.
Riverdale skirted past Princeton 5-4 in their previous matchup back in April of 2023. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
