Recap: Cornerstone Christian Academy Warriors vs. Bishop Gorman Crusaders
After a string of 15 wins, the Cornerstone Christian Academy Warriors's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 31-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bishop Gorman. Cornerstone Christian Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Bishop Gorman apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Cornerstone Christian Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Mary Masters and Maddye Hornsby. Masters scored eight points, while Hornsby scored eight points along with five rebounds and two steals. Hornsby is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played.
Leading Bishop Gorman to victory were Gianna Mahfood and Halle Lowe. Mahfood scored nine points, while Lowe scored seven points along with four steals. Lowe hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games.
Cornerstone Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 15-2. As for Bishop Gorman, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a massive bump to their 17-13 record this season.
