Softball Recap: Astronaut's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

While Astronaut's win against Sebastian River wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The War Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Sharks on Monday. The win was nothing new for the War Eagles as they're now sitting on three straight.

Riley Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Arielys Rosado was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ciara Vansky, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Astronaut's victory bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Sebastian River, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 10-7.

Coincidentally, Astronaut and Sebastian River will both be playing Viera the next time they take the field. The Sharks will head out to face the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the War Eagles will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
