Basketball Game Preview: North Canyon Rattlers vs. Youngker Roughriders

The North Canyon Rattlers will venture away from home to face off against the Youngker Roughriders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North Canyon is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.

On Tuesday, North Canyon had to suffer through a 67-27 loss at the hands of North. While losing is never fun, the Rattlers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 237th, while the Mustangs are ranked 91st).

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 61-30, which was the final score in Youngker's tilt against Buckeye on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Roughriders in their matchups with the Hawks: they've now lost eight in a row.

North Canyon's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Youngker, their loss dropped their record down to 13-12.

North Canyon was taken down by Youngker 55-24 when the teams last played back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Youngker's Ashlee Gonzalez, who posted 26 points.
