Baseball Recap: Randolph Southern Takes a Loss

Randolph Southern had lost six straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 1-14 to make it seven. They came up short against the Northeastern Knights, falling 22-0. The Rebels were not able to make up for their loss to the Knights from their previous meeting back in May of 2023.

Randolph Southern saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Allen, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one double. Allen has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

As for Northeastern, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

On Northeastern's side, the team relied heavily on Kaleb Kress, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those four runs gave Kress a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Logan White, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Randolph Southern will host Eastern Hancock at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rebels are facing the Royals at the right time seeing as the Royals are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Northeastern, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Winchester Community at 5:30 p.m. The Golden Falcons will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight.
