Football Recap: Salem Comes Up Short

After soaring to 44 points the game before, Salem was a bit more limited in their matchup on Saturday. They received a blow as they fell 25-7 to the West Deptford Eagles. The Rams lost against the Eagles in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 58-19 score last time.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Cole Paskiewicz and Zamir Davis. Paskiewicz rushed for 158 yards and one touchdown on only 14 carries while Davis rushed for 146 yards and a pair of TDs. Those 158 rushing yards gave Paskiewicz a new career-high. Michael Joseph was in the mix as well, providing West Deptford with one score.

Salem now has a losing record of 3-4. As for West Deptford, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Salem will challenge Woodstown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for West Deptford, they will square off against Paulsboro at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
