Basketball Recap: Paris' Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

If Paris was feeling good fresh off their 76-44 takedown of Caddo Mills last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Paris Wildcats took a 52-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Lamar Panthers. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Wildcats came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 217th, while the Panthers are ranked 487th).

Paris moved to 14-6 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for North Lamar, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-8.

Paris will square off against Sulphur Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sulphur Springs will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Paris surely won't give up without a fight. As for North Lamar, they will head out on the road to challenge Bonham at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
