Basketball Recap: Lauralee Harris Key Part of a Team Effort in Raiders Win

Midway won the last time they faced Hobbton and things went their way on Friday too. The Midway Raiders came out on top against the Hobbton Wildcats by a score of 35-26. The win was some much needed relief for the Raiders as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Midway's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lauralee Harris, who posted eight points. Those eight points gave Harris a new career-high. Another player making a difference was McKenna Brooks, who had eight points and nine rebounds.

Midway smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matchups.

Midway's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Hobbton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Midway will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lakewood at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Hobbton also won't see the court for a while: their next game is against Princeton at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
