Baseball Recap: Anderson Falls Short of Edgewood in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Anderson can now relate to. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Edgewood Cougars on Wednesday. The Raptors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2017.

Mason Glen was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Hudson Best was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Another player making a difference was Eric Fleetwood, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Anderson dropped their record down to 16-13 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Edgewood, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

As of now, neither Anderson nor Edgewood have any future games scheduled.
