Baseball Game Preview: Country Christian Cougars vs. St. Paul Buckaroos

For the second straight game, Country Christian will face off against St. Paul. The Cougars will face off against the Buckaroos at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Country Christian has five straight victories, St. Paul has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Country Christian barely beat St. Paul the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cougars never let the Buckaroos get on the board and left with an 11-0 win on Wednesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Cougars considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Shane Allphin was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Norton, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run.

Country Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

St. Paul's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Country Christian, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
