Preview: Crawfordsville Athenians vs. North Vermillion Falcons
After two games on the road, Crawfordsville is heading back home. They will take on the North Vermillion Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Crawfordsville suffered their biggest loss since December 7, 2023 on Saturday. They were beaten by Southmont 44-14. Crawfordsville has struggled against Southmont recently, as their contest on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, North Vermillion ended up a good deal behind North Central on Saturday and lost 63-46.
Lauren Ellis put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cadence Dunham, who scored ten points.
Crawfordsville bumped their record down to 0-20 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road. As for North Vermillion, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-11.
Crawfordsville was able to grind out a solid victory over North Vermillion when the teams last played back in January of 2023, winning 56-43. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was North Vermillion's Callie Naylor, who scored 11 points along with six steals.
