Basketball Game Preview: Victoria East Titans vs. Lamar Consolidated Mustangs

The Victoria East Titans will head out on the road to face off against the Lamar Consolidated Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

On Friday, Victoria East was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 47-42 to Fort Bend Marshall.

Meanwhile, Lamar Consolidated was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They took a 34-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of Randle. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1306th, while the Lions are ranked 600th).

Lamar Consolidated's loss dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Victoria East, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-10.

Everything came up roses for Victoria East against Lamar Consolidated when the teams last played back in December of 2019, as the team secured a 70-35 win. Does Victoria East have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lamar Consolidated turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
