Soccer Game Preview: Southside vs. Jay

Southside hasn't had much luck against Jay recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Cardinals will square off against the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Southside's offense. They came up short against Southwest on Tuesday, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, Southside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 443rd, while Southwest are ranked 45th).

Meanwhile, Jay came up short against Southwest on Friday and fell 4-2. Jay haven't had much luck with Southwest recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Southside's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Jay, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7-1.

Southside might still be hurting after the 4-0 defeat they got from Jay when the teams last played back in January. Can the Cardinals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
