Basketball Recap: KIPP P Takes a Loss

KIPP P was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 35th straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 66-17 loss at the hands of the Northwest Halifax Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 68-10 back in January.

Northwest Halifax's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Keyara Rook, who posted 31 points. Rook's evening made it seven games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Alyssia Patterson was another key player, putting up 20 points.

KIPP P's loss dropped their record down to 0-18. As for Northwest Halifax, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-11 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. KIPP P will take on North Edgecombe at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Northwest Halifax, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Northampton County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
