Volleyball Recap: Alton Comes Up Short

Alton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Maryville Christian Lions. The Redbirds were not able to make up for their defeat to the Lions from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Alton started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-19, 25-14.

Alton's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Maryville Christian, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Alton has already played their next contest (against Bayless), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Maryville Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Saxony Lutheran on the 7th.
