Soccer Game Preview: Steele vs. Johnson

The Steele Knights are taking a road trip to challenge the Johnson Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Johnson better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Steele's game on Tuesday is any indication, that's when Steele really gets things going. The Knights blew past Canyon 5-2. The victory was familiar territory for Steele, who have now won three matches in a row.

They hit Canyon with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Amari Parrett (2), Darriyn Morales, Paulo Navedo, and Gabriel Quezada.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Johnson). They put the hurt on Judson with a sharp 9-1 win on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for Johnson in their matchups with Judson: they've now won three in a row.

Johnson now has a winning record of 5-4-1. As for Steele, their win bumped their record up to 9-5-2.

Steele skirted past Johnson 3-2 when the teams last played back in March of 2025. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Jaguars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
