Basketball Recap: Woodgrove Falls Short Against Ranked West Potomac

On Friday, Woodgrove faced West Potomac in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Woodgrove Wolverines received a blow as they fell 68-51 to the West Potomac Wolverines. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Woodgrove of the 60-48 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2019.

West Potomac's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jill Humphreys led the charge by dropping a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards. Lina Hashimi was another key player, going 6 of 11 on her way to 12 points and six rebounds.

Woodgrove's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for West Potomac, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
